Be Our Best Chance at a Heeling Heart

At BR Best Chance❤️🐾, we believe every dog deserves more than a second chance—they deserve their best chance.Launched by Best Retrievers, this nonprofit program was created to serve shelter dogs from the Bastrop Animal Shelter by giving them structured training, compassionate care, and the opportunity to become fully prepared for forever homes.
Unlike a traditional rescue, we operate as a foster-based training initiative. While these dogs are still legally under the care of the shelter, we provide them with on-leash obedience training and socialization during their time with us. We do not charge the shelter or adopters for this initial training—our time is donated because we believe in the mission. Every dog that passes through our gates is treated like they belong, because they do.
We aren’t just teaching sit and stay—we’re restoring confidence, building trust, and helping these dogs discover what it means to be loved.
