Our Story
This year, Best Retrievers launched BR Best Chance to give shelter dogs a true shot at happiness. For years, we’ve trained dogs with care and dedication, but we felt the pull to do more for those waiting in shelters. Partnering with Bastrop Animal Shelter, we bring these dogs in, provide the training they need, and prepare them to find families who will cherish them. BR Best Chance is our commitment to offering a second chance, creating a story of love, growth, and transformation.

Koa (Adopted)
Meet Koa! 
We’re excited to introduce Koa, one of the first dogs in the Best Retrievers Best Chance at Saving a Life program! 
Koa is a 1-year-old Pinscher Doberman mix, born on November 8, 2023. This handsome boy, with his brown and red/mahogany coat, weighs 33 lbs and is already neutered.
Through this program, Best Retrievers gives shelter dogs like Koa a chance to receive professional train

The story of his adoption :) After losing their dog Dexter, trained at Best Retrievers, Porky’s new owner felt drawn to him at Bastrop Animal Shelter but thought he’d been adopted—until seeing him in our program! After meeting Porky and trainer Keltzi, it was love at first sight. 🐾💙

Bruno, a gentle six-year-old Lab mix, found himself at the shelter after an unexpected turn of events left him abandoned. Despite the confusion, he’s remained a sweet and laid-back soul. Through our BR Best Chance program, we’ve welcomed Bruno to our facility, where he’ll receive the love and training he deserves. We’re excited to help him find his forever home and a fresh start. F
